Greetings to all you readers...
I'd like to start off by saying thank you for visiting my page and browsing through my content. My name is Kat and I am a 20 year old New York City native. Now I'm sure your wondering what makes this girl so special that's she's decided to write a blog about her life. And my answer to that totally valid question is simply...nothing. I am no more extraordinary than the person next to you walking down the street. But isn't that the best thing to read about? The story of a person just like you...someone who has to wake up begrudgingly to shut her alarm clock off, someone who is a romantic with the occasional splash of bad luck, who loves her daily coffee and has her own family problems. That's because you can relate to her...to connect your emotions and experiences to her own and say, "Yeah, I remember when that happened to me" or "Wow, she feels the same way" instead of reading tabloids about lives that are put together haphazardly that we hold up on crumbling pedestals.
I decided to start this blog as an outlet for myself. I am a civil engineering major and by the very true rumors about said major, it is pretty difficult and time consuming. I realized that most of my time and identity had been taken up by school over the past two years now and it made me really sad to think about all the writing I used to do on the side. I had joined this creative writing program that my junior high school principal started in the 8th grade and I immediately fell in love with the freedom it gives you and the power at your fingertips to create anything. I continued my passion into high school, working on a book over the four years of my schooling. Once I started college, however, in 2019, most of my free time went to studying and homework and I honestly started to forget how to enjoy myself when I did have any time to myself. When my junior year started, only last week, I decided that I was going to no longer let school define who I was. I was going to let the other aspects of my personality shine through. I told my parents about my idea and my mom actually suggested a blog, which in full turn brings us back to where we are right now.
I've never done anything like this before and believe me I am truly excited about the adventure it will take me on. Thank you again for coming on this adventure with me and helping me let the Kat out of the bag...
Enjoy!
